Mosman Art Walk 2023
The shopfronts of Mosman village will become de facto art galleries for the third year of the Mosman Art Walk. Established in 2021 by the Mosman High Art Committee, it aims to not only raise money for artists, but also to support art students at the school.
Works by more than 40 well-established and up-and-coming Aussie artists – many of them Mosman locals – are set up in shopfronts along a three-kilometre route. Expect pieces by Ken Done, Ann Cape, Ian Grant, Rhett Brewer, Stephen Coburn and more, encompassing everything from sculptures and paintings to pottery and prints. You'll find them in the windows of businesses like bookshops, jewellery stores, travel agents, chemists, fashion boutiques and florists.
The walk is free – but if you're willing to drop some cash, you might be able to take your favourite piece home with you. Each work has a QR code that will lead you to purchase instructions. Seventy per cent of proceeds of each work goes back to the artist, while the remaining 30 per cent is donated to Mosman High School's art students. Funds from last year's walk helped pay for speakers to come to the school, an art camp.
The route runs along Military Road along the main Mosman village strip.
