Flicks at the Greens
Goodbye winter. Forget a dark cinema and rugging up; The Greens are taking the silver screen to the bowling green, just in time for spring.
From September 16 on Wednesday to Sunday every week, screenings of classics like Dirty Dancing and Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle and cult favourites like Mean Girls and The Artist will be screened at the newly refurbished North Sydney bowling club. Acoustic acts will warm up eager audiences on nights Friday through Sunday. Sundays are family days, with screenings of family-friendly favourites.
There's a full kitchen for hungry movie-goers, and two varieties of bar: candy, and full-service for alcoholic accompaniments. For those eager for a more VIP experience, a VIP ticket ($32) is available. You'll get a beanbed, a free bottle of Taltarni wine and a box of popcorn. Easy.
The films will be screened silently, so you'll need some headphones to get in the loop.
The program is already up, and tickets are on sale now.
Screenings start at 6:30-7:30pm, depending on sundown.
