Recreated sets, '60s fashion and, of course, a dance off.

If you’re crazy for Swayze then get ready for the time of your life. Iconic '80s film Dirty Dancing is coming to life with an immersive screening on a grand scale, because “nobody puts baby in a corner”.

The film stars Patrick Swayze as dance instructor Johnny Castle and Jennifer Grey as Frances “Baby” Houseman. The two begin a secret love affair during the summer of 1963 at a lakeside retreat in Catskills, New York.

The film’s fictional '60s location, Kellerman’s Mountain House, is being recreated at Flemington racecourse, complete with more than 50 dancers and actors. As well as watching a screening of the film, guests can take craft classes or tee off at the golf course. And it’s a safe bet there will be a talent show.

Kellerman’s Diner will be serving American dishes and cocktails to keep the energy levels up for all that toe tapping and hoisting your date into the air above your head. And watermelon carrying.

In keeping with the authentic '60s dress code, phones will be bagged on entry so forget documenting the whole thing with Insta stories.
