ADC Makers Market Returns This Weekend
Australian Design Centre's (ADC) Makers Market is back for the first time in 2018 as part of Sydney Design Festival. The market will be held this Saturday March 10, outdoors as usual, in the ADC's forecourt on the corner of William and Palmer Streets in Darlinghurst.
The market will feature stalls from more than 20 local Sydney artists, selected for their exceptional craftsmanship. There will be jewellery by Darlinghurst local Amy Tamblyn and homewares from Trade the Mark, Outer Island and Love and West, alongside a covetable selection of ceramics by Fortynine Studio, Clay Canoe and Public Holiday.
The ADV will also be open, so it's the perfect opportunity to catch the Obsessed: Compelled to make exhibition, which showcases the work of 14 artists from across Australia. The exhibition looks beyond finished objects at the artists behind them, to uncover the conceptual frameworks which shape their work.
Japanese food truck Shiso Fine will be onsite for lunch, selling yakitori and piping hot gyoza. They'll also serve coffee for early-morning market-goers.
The market runs from 10am–4pm and entry is free, but get in early, goods at ADC's markets tend to sell quickly.
