Spice Market makes a strong case for shopping-centre dining. Stepping into the vibrant Thai restaurant, on the west deck at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, banishes any memories of stuffy food courts and flimsy plastic food trays. Instead, you’ll find an expansive menu, a colourful dining room and novelty robot waiters.

The technicolour menu spans soups, curries, salads, grilled and fried meats, seafood, noodles, souped-up tofu dishes and street-food classics. Whatever you order, it’ll be a generous serving packed with flavours – from the herby Wagyu larb to the choose-your-own-heat som tum Thai salad, with its chilli-drenched strips of green papaya.

We suggest starting with the khao kriep pak mor, translucent steamed rice dumplings stuffed with minced pork and served with a creamy coconut and sesame sauce. End your meal on the same coconut note with Thai coconut sticky rice with mango – a familiar favourite. The menu also includes plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and a dedicated section for kids. So everyone from families to couples and boisterous friendship groups will find something to enjoy here.
