Good Things Cafe

You’d be forgiven for assuming the atmosphere at Good Things would match the big houses surrounding it. Nope.

Kanye, Dr Dre and Rihanna pump out of the sound system. The male baristas and kitchen crew all sport rugged beards. And aside from a few glass jars stuffed with fat succulents, the white-washed cafe’s only decorative flourish is the wall art spelling out “IT’S ALL GOOD” in hairy blue arms.

It truly is all good. Breakfast is served until 2.30pm every day and features Lumberjack Beans (which come with poached eggs and soldiers for mopping up leftover sauces) and Banana-Nut Hotcakes (carnivores can add maple bacon).

The case out front is stuffed with quick bites such as sausage rolls, salads and sweets, including an incredible carrot-and-coconut cake with sour-cream icing. The coffee is made from beans roasted by local independents, Micrology.
