It’s hard to believe Noosa didn’t have a single craft brewery before 2017. Now the region is flush with great local beer – but it took Land & Sea Brewery to break the duck, setting the tone for what the scene is best known for today: smashable styles to match Noosa’s surf, sun and hair-curling humidity.
On tap are light-bodied brews including the Japanese Rice Lager – a nod to the country’s bone-dry beer styles – and the Socializer, a golden mid-strength that turns down the bitterness and dials up the fruit. Beyond the quenchers, the brewery dips into modern styles including the Juicebox hazy IPA and Mango Sour.
Not content with just brewing beer, Land & Sea has taken things further with Noosa Heads Distillery, which shares the huge open space. That means tours are a two-for-one deal that’ll net you a paddle of both beer and spirits. It also means that, besides the full core range of beers on tap (including some brewery exclusives), there’s a full cocktail menu that heroes the distillery’s vodka, whisky and signature dry gin.
On the food front, the menu is all about upmarket brewpub fare. Think satay chicken skewers paired with flatbread, Italian-style pork ribs and grazing boards to share. And it wouldn’t be a proper brewery experience without a Wagyu beef burger layered with bacon and American cheese.
