Walk along the coastal track in Noosa National Park and you’ll soon find yourself a panoramic ocean view above a granite landmark called Boiling Pot. That heart-shaped hollow is an iconic piece of Noosa that bubbles with the ocean tides, not unlike the brewing kit this Sunshine Coast brewery takes its name from.

Like many brewers, founder John Scott Madill started out brewing beer at home before opening to the masses in 2019. Madill’s idea for Boiling Pot Brewing Co is beer that matches Noosa’s warm, subtropical climate. That means an easy-drinking golden ale; a low bitterness IPA; and a German black lager called Bat Migration, named for the flying foxes that swing by the brewery as the sun sets.

The in-house kitchen turns out stretched-to-order, Roman-style pizzas built for fun in the sun. You’ll also find nods to BPBC’s German and Belgian influences, like mussels cooked in white wine and served with sourdough, and Bavarian sausages with sauerkraut and potato salad.

Set within a former shed, the taproom is a leafy oasis decorated with tropical trees, flower arrangements and its centrepiece mural, a collage of Boiling Pot itself designed by artist Brontë Naylor. The mezzanine or astroturfed terrace are ideal spots to park yourself and work through the tap list. Non-beer drinkers will also find plenty of wines and spirits, both local and from further afield.
