The world is yours at Cafe Le Monde. As its Instagram proclaims, this Hastings Street icon has been “fuelling surfers since ’86”, with an all-day offering that even the most easygoing punter could set their salt-sprayed watch to.

While many drop in on the way to the national park for coffee by Brisbane roaster Fonzie Abbott and locally made treats by Tanglewood Bakery, making time for breakfast is a fine way to take the pulse of the area. The spanner crab omelette with coconut nahm jim and fermented chilli is a perennial hit, as are bowls of granola and seasonal fruit; or pumpkin, mushrooms and greens. A mighty morning drinks list includes beetroot lattes, cold-pressed juices by Noosa Cleanse, and a seasonal kombucha on tap.

The vibe is no less electric after dark, when groups hook into a continental offering that might include seared Tassie scallops with Pernod butter, Spring Bay mussels with handcut fries, and roast duck breast served with jus, radicchio, beetroot and a duck fat hash brown. The oyster bar offers freshly shucked molluscs and chilled seafood platters to match Noosa’s pristine year-round weather.

Proving there’s really nothing this spot doesn’t do, the floor opens up for a rotation of live bands and DJs every Saturday night. And when the good times start flowing, keep them coming with an eclectic range of Aussie beers, frozen Margaritas, fun house creations and classic cocktails on request.
