Virtual Pizza and Wine Pairing With Anthony Falco and Mike Bennie
If – after lockdown – you’ve got the bandwidth for just one more Zoom masterclass, let it be this one dedicated to pizza and wine.
You’ll be in great hands with Anthony Falco, the ex-pizza chef at renowned New York pizzeria Roberta's (which some consider the Big Apple's best) and now pizza correspondent, and Mike Bennie, journalist, wine expert, co-founder of the Drink Easy Awards and co-owner of Sydney bottle shop P&V Wine & Liquor Merchants.
Falco will help you master the art of the pizza crust, and walk you through the dos and don’ts of pizza toppings (we’re told the polarizing pineapple will be part of the discussion). He’ll be using Breville’s new Smart Oven Pizzaiolo countertop machine, which – with a maximum temperature of 400 degrees – can cook a Neapolitan pizza in less than two minutes.
Meanwhile, Bennie will give you the rundown on how to pair the perfect glass of wine (or sour beer) with your carby creation.
