Last year, Orlando Marzo took out 2018’s World Class Global Bartender of the Year prize, making him only the second Australian ever to win the competition. Now beverage director at co-working space Worksmith, Marzo is again leading his field – this time in developing a non-alcoholic cocktail that’s every bit as complex and engaging as its boozy counterpart.
Just in time for Dry July, Marzo will host an In Conversation on July 2, discussing the booming trend of alcohol-free cocktails with the Seedlip team (whose non-alcoholic distilled spirit Seedlip Garden 108 is the first of its kind). Guests will also have the opportunity to taste his complex cocktail, which is available exclusively at Mercedes me Melbourne throughout July.
In the video above, Marzo takes us through the process of sourcing fresh seasonal ingredients from Yarra Valley farmer Liam Spurrell of Spurrell Foraging, including lemon saccharum, myrtle and mountain marigold.
