What’s happening around town
• It sold out in 45 minutes at MFWF’s Baker’s Dozen event. But now you’ve got a second crack at securing Aru’s “remixed” duck sausage sanga wrapped in laminated pastry (i.e. a sausage roll) at sibling bakery Antara. And it comes with peanut sambal for dipping. From 8am Friday April 11 until sold out.
• You’ve got slightly more time to get your hands on Baker Bleu x Piccolina’s three collab gelato flavours. There’s traditional hot cross bun; sour cherry and dark chocolate hot cross bun; and strawberry cheesecake tart. You can also combine the two HCB flavours into an epic Easter sundae complete with sour cherry jam, hot cross bun crumbs, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and a wafer cigar. Available at all Piccolina stores until April 22.
• Happening Warragul restaurant Messmates is coming to the city for one night only, to put on a collaborative dinner with, and at, Circl. The nine-course meal includes the likes of “Tinned Tuna”, or yellowfin tuna, capers and sushi rice; Blackmore Wagyu MB9+ tri tip; lamb skewers with fermented jalapeno gravy; and Santa Rosa plum semifreddo with chewy strawberry and extra virgin olive oil. 6pm Wednesday April 30. $160 per person. Book here.
