Off the back of the downpour that drenched the Melbourne Cup, at Oaks Day on Thursday there was sunshine in spades – and racegoers responded with some some bold and vivacious outfits.
Femininity reigned supreme across the board, with suits in soft pastels rampant; and bold, flirty frocks in scarlet, navy blue and deep, moody green. Plays on volume and asymmetry made repeat appearances, too, while in terms of headgear, headbands and straw boater hats topped some of the strongest looks.
