Pub Curry Night and Virtual Trivia

Fri 25th September, 2020
211 Gertrude Street Fitzroy 3065
Fitzroy’s Builders Arms Hotel is running its popular trivia night online. Order in a special slow-cooked duck curry (or smoked cauliflower version) and tune in for the dulcet tones of quiz master extraordinaire Cam Smith.

Melburnians missing the charms and diabolical culinary questions of the Builders Arms’ resident quiz master Cam Smith can soon stream him into their homes (aside from tuning into his regular radio show on Triple R).

The much-missed Gertrude Street pub is running a virtual trivia night on Friday September 25, following a similar event held for Melbourne Food & Wine Festival back in May.

On the menu? A takeaway curry special from chef Andy Barkham, inspired by London’s iconic Brick Lane. He’s making a slow-cooked duck curry with snake beans, lemongrass, galangal, coriander and cumin. Vegos can opt for a smoked-cauliflower and cashew version. Both come with a serve of fluffy coconut rice, Barkham’s date chutney and a house-fermented ginger beer.

The special is $35 per person and runs all weekend. Order in advance for pick up between 12pm and 5pm on September 25 from the bottle shop.

Trivia is free (but you’ll need to register) and kicks off at 7pm. There are three 10-question rounds, including a “sensory” round requiring you to pick up a "sensory kit" from the pub ahead of the trivia night.
