Gather to Give at The George on Collins
The George’s head chef will be joined by Masterchef contestants to put on a charity dinner that will raise vital funds for Victoria’s only children’s hospice.
The only thing better than going out for dinner is doing it for a good cause. On July 24, The George on Collins will host Gather to Give, an exclusive one-night only event featuring fine dining, music, and a live prize auction, all to raise much-needed funds for Victoria’s only children’s hospice Very Special Kids.
Masterchef alumni Khanh Ong, Adam D’Sylva and Christy Tania will join the George on Collins’ head chef Kingsley Heron in the kitchen to offer a dynamic, collaborative menu showcasing their skills. Canapes on arrival will include a prawn betel leaf with chilli jam and pomelo, and pork belly crackling tiger roll banh mi, before a main course featuring a sea urchin and blue swimmer crab toastada with avocado pureee and mango salsa fresca and Korean fried chicken sliders.
There will also be a cheese grazing station from That’s Amore, bespoke whisky tasting by Ned whisky, wines from from Treasury Wine Estates, Chandon and Sutton Grange, as well as signature cocktails from Great Drops. There will also be vodka mixers courtesy of Grainshaker and a range of CUB beers. Leave room between dinner and all that cheese for a choice of desserts by Christy Tania to cap off the night.
DJ Havana Brown, singers Bonnie Anderson and Kimba Ward will provide live musical entertainment throughout the evening, and there will be a live auction on the night featuring five major items going under the hammer for charity.
All proceeds of the $250 ticket price go to Melbourne charity Very Special Kids. Supporting more than 850 families across Victoria, Very Special Kids cares for children with life-limiting conditions as well as provides specialised family support services.
