The Beltane Feast

Tue 7th September, 2010
7:00pm – 12:00am
Libertine 500 Victoria Street, North Melbourne

Spring has arrived. Farewell the winter chill and welcome the warmer weather, blossoming foliage and arguably the tastiest of all seasons produce. In Ancient times, Pagans celebrated the beginning of the new season with Beltane. They believed it was a time of new life. When mother earth and the fertility god joined forces to provide a plentiful season of robust life-stock and strong crops.

Today we can enjoy the fruits of century old rituals, with a special, one night only dinner at Libertine. The evening's host are Neil Prentice from Holly's Garden & Prentice Wines and Will Flamsteed from Smith's Vineyard in Beechworth. These wine-makers will share their biodynamic and organic approaches with diners in an intimate setting. Libertine’s head ched Andre De Laine has designed a mouth watering four-course menu to complement each wine.
