If you're heading past the MCG after 6pm this Friday you'll see it glowing red. The special lighting is in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics worldwide and the Global Day of Inclusion on July 21.

The G is part of a 70-strong list of iconic locations around the world that will light up to raise awareness for and promote the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

Other participating locations include the Sydney Opera House, the London Eye and Niagara Falls, all of which will light up red too.
