Did you buy a Lotto ticket at Barkly Square last week? Did you also order Maccas? You’d better pray to the lords of Sydney Road you didn’t use that ticket for a napkin.

A $55 million winning ticket purchased from Scole Lotto & News is still unclaimed following the Powerball draw last Thursday. The Brunswick newsagent has been open for three years but other than a couple of division two wins had yet to sell a large prize.

The Brunswick baller picked all six winning numbers plus the “Powerball”. No other winning tickets matched the draw meaning the entire prize goes to the mystery winner.

The $55 million prize is the highest jackpot in a year – the equivalent of 11 million shanklish pies from A1 Bakery. (It's also Australia's third largest ever lottery jackpot win by a single entry.)
