The Corner Store Cafe
Features
The Corner Store Cafe’s Kim Malouf was a Toowong local for a long time before setting up shop in what used to be a rundown corner store. Working with renowned Brisbane architects Richards & Spence, she’s injected a bit of chic yet homely magic into the place, with great cafe offerings alongside corner store essentials such as fresh flowers, pantry necessities and jars of lollies.
The cafe’s menu is ever changing and always surprising. Breakfast might be an acai bowl of seed and nut granola with fresh fruit, or spiced quinoa and almond milk porridge with poached pear, sweet dukkah and honey.
For lunch, the American bacon cheeseburger with a chuck beef patty, caramelised onion, cheddar, pickles, sauce and some leafy greens is a popular regular along with substantial salads and a cabinet full of cakes to go. Top-notch coffee is pumped out by the Synesso machine.
