It’s about time. The Dog Lovers Show has been a massive hit in Melbourne and Sydney since it launched in 2013, and this weekend it finally makes its Brisbane debut. It will likely attract more than 10,000 dog lovers over two days to the Royal International Convention Centre at Brisbane Showgrounds.

The inaugural Brisbane show will present more than 500 hounds of all shapes, sizes
and breeds, 150 exhibitors, more than 40 breed clubs and a bunch of other visitor attractions. Some respected industry experts will also be in attendance, including TV vets Dr Katrina Warren and Dr Chris Brown and celebrity animal trainer Peta Clarke.

Other attractions include the Brisbane Insta-Pooch Zone, where you can pat and take selfies with some of the city’s most Insta-famous pups; a Hero Dog Tribute, with demonstrations from talented service dogs; and a Rescue Dog Zone, where visitors can chat with a number of local rescue groups and shelters and meet dogs looking for new homes.

The only bummer? You can’t take your own doggo for meet and greets. The furry line has to be drawn somewhere, we suppose.

The Dog Lovers Show happens at the Royal International Convention Centre at Brisbane Showgrounds this Saturday and Sunday November 4 and 5. Tickets here.
